Editor, author, food creator
Clara Block Hane is a visionary editor with extensive experience. She is meticulous with words, devoted to making pictures and texts speak together – and passionate about cooking.
Clara began freelancing for Sweden’s second-largest newspaper, Svenska Dagbladet, while she was still at university. She soon emerged as one of the country’s most influential young culture journalists, with cover stories and columns in newspapers and magazines, among them Wallpaper. With a great sense of humor and a witty yet precise style, she writes about literature, food, design, theater, music, film and politics. She was later recruited to the leading newspaper, Dagens Nyheter, as a writer, columnist and editor of the Friday supplement. She subsequently became editor-in-chief of Swedish ELLE food & wine, and still holds the record for largest and most-sold issues of the food magazine.
In the 2000s and 2010s, Clara has worked on Swedish and English communication and marketing assignments for major companies. She has authored, edited and co-written several books.
In 2016, Clara and her childhood friend, author and actress Martina Haag, have enjoyed great success with their cookbook, the title of which roughly translates to You Are My Best Friend and I Love Coming to Dinner at Your Place.
